Jordan Carlton Schaul, PhD

Risqué Transitions is the career stories project from SexualWellness.help, documenting journeys into, within, and beyond porn and adult entertainment. Through biographies and conversations, we explore professional reinvention, overlapping careers, transferable skills, and wellbeing.
Our purpose
We give equal respect to entering the industry, staying, combining professions, and leaving. Our stories explore personal decisions and professional contributions without treating any one career path as the preferred outcome.

Origins
This project was inspired by Abby Somers’s story, from hospitality management to adult film work during the COVID-19 pandemic. SexualWellness.help is also home to the Positively Porncast™.
Editorial standards
We use publicly disclosed background information, link to sources, verify career chronology, distinguish testimony from research, and separate advocacy and coaching from clinical credentials. We do not describe someone as having left the industry unless reliable sources establish that. Profiles do not imply endorsement or affiliation. We welcome factual corrections.
Educational scope
Content is intended for adult readers and provides general information. The project does not provide diagnosis, therapy, or individualized medical advice.
A career does not define a person’s worth
People who work—or have worked—in adult entertainment deserve dignity, privacy, and fair treatment. Their work history should not erase their education, skills, relationships, or contributions to their communities.
Risqué Trajectories challenges stigma by telling career stories with context and respect. We recognize the agency of people who choose adult work, listen to those who describe harm or regret, and avoid treating entry as a moral failure or departure as a redemption story.
Reducing stigma means making room for honest conversations about consent, working conditions, wellbeing, and opportunity. Respect does not require overlooking exploitation or misconduct; it means assessing conduct fairly rather than making assumptions about someone’s character because of their profession.
For adult readers. Content is educational and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Profile inclusion does not imply affiliation or endorsement.
